Service Description:
|
20-bed hospital inpatient unit for adults with complex musculoskeletal problems * services provided by physiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, social workers, and speech-language pathologists
Typical stays last 2 to 4 weeks

Medical referral required * referred patients are assessed by a clinical team member prior to admission

Eligibility / Target Population:
|
Adults 18 years and older with complex musculoskeletal problems * must be medically stable to participate in rehabilitation therapies * must have medical and cognitive/emotional ability to participate in rehabilitation therapies * must have clear rehabilitation goals (typically defined as improving mobility and functional independence)* must be motivated to actively participate in the program * must have a clearly stated and agreed upon discharge destination * must have at least 50% weight bearing ability
