Service Description:

Halton Region Public Health conducts case and contact management and outbreak management for all diseases of public health significance.

Registered Nurses, Public Health Inspectors and Infection Control Specialists:

Complete investigations of diseases of public health significance (reportable diseases) including respiratory, enteric, vaccine-preventable, zoonotic, vector-borne and blood-borne reportable diseases.
Respond to outbreaks in long-term care homes, retirement homes and congregate living settings, and enteric outbreak in childcare centers.
Review and assess applications for mandatory blood testing of Emergency Service Workers under the Mandatory Blood Testing Act.
Ensure infection prevention and control (IPAC) programs are in place in long-term care homes, retirement homes, child care centres, and inspections of Personal Service Settings.
Complete IPAC investigations and inspections
